Good morning, everyone. I am Byoung-Tak Zhang, Director of the AI Institute at Seoul National University.

It is an immense honor to welcome you all to the opening of the SNU-CMU Research Center for Human-Centered AI.
This center represents a remarkable collaboration between two world-leading institutions, Seoul National University and Carnegie Mellon University.
Together, we are creating a platform that will push the boundaries of AI research by combining the diverse academic and cultural perspectives of our teams.

Human-centered AI is a dynamic and interdisciplinary field that requires creativity, expertise, and collaboration across various domains.
With a focus on Interactive AI, Cognitive AI, and Societal AI, our research will strive to develop intuitive AI systems, model human cognitive processes, and create AI solutions that not only benefit society but also minimize potential risks.

This collaboration between SNU and CMU will foster groundbreaking research, contribute to training the next generation of AI leaders, and generate significant global research outcomes.
